“My second series was unexpected. I realised that I’m no longer afraid and hurt anymore. The series represents a craving of life to see more to grow.”

My second series came out of nowhere. It was so raw and unexpected and I realised that I was no longer hurt anymore, unlike my first series which was based more around a sad and negative but personal emotion.

I dream of dying which later seems like rebirth. I guess that’s how I treat my paintings it’s me but a rebirth.

I’ve used coming back to my hometown as a chance to rebirth.

Scared of change, afraid in what this story might paint. Maybe dropping out was a blessing in disguise as then I got to come back home and deal with my father’s situation head on. I was scared of dropping out of uni and the possible death of my father which is series 1 but series 2 shows. The reflection on how much I’ve grown as a person. Challenging the Ray you have always thought you were maybe deep down, I wasn’t exactly afraid of coming back to Newcastle but afraid of rebirth scared of change, change of London, change of my family, change of everything.

I remembered something very important which has influenced my second series, I became obsessed with the colours of the night sky.
