“My first series started in 2015. At the time I dropped out of university, my 83 year old dad was fighting cancer. He was the inspiration for my first paintings. The paintings are unnamed because they are treated as journals which narrate my own story”

First series started with my dad, soon after I dropped out of university my body was breaking down mentally and physically painting was my only oxygen, the colour red became a friend he became my only indicator of what is still real, this world was no longer blue and beautiful.

Red represents giving and receiving, When we are hurt we bleed,

Soon after this story, I locked myself out of my own body by receiving medication citalopram (anti-depressant) for once this world seemed different I could see the sun shine in a different way, I seemed different but it wasn’t until I saw I read the painting back to my true self, then it all made sense, I wasn’t me, It wasn’t me who painted that, I seemed empty. I seemed lost
